Abstract

Interference-based cos(2φ) qubits retain a practical tradeoff between charge-noise and flux-noise dephasing even when their odd Josephson harmonics are strongly suppressed.

Key Results

  • Unified several single-loop cos(2φ) implementations under a multi-harmonic SQUID Hamiltonian.
  • Found that favorable parameters can support millisecond-scale while remains limited to a few microseconds.
  • Identified residual first-harmonic fluctuations and interference-loop flux noise as fundamental engineering constraints.
