First complete experimental demonstration of a quantum algorithm. Implements Grover’s quantum search algorithm on a 2-qubit NMR system using ${}^1\text{H}$ and ${}^{13}\text{C}$ nuclear spins in chloroform (${\text{CHCl}}_3$). Searches a 4-element database with a single quantum query, compared to 2.25 queries on average classically. Demonstrates state loading, quantum computation, and readout within the NMR coherence time.
